Woudschoten is tucked away in the Zeister woods, on a 45 hectare estate, which merges into the National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The vast nature reserve lends itself perfectly for strenuous outdoor activities or relaxing walks.

In the area Zeist there is a lot to experience in terms of cycling pleasure. The wooded area and culture makes it a pleasure to visit by bike. You can cycle more than 200 kilometers and can choose from various cycling routes of the ANWB. These differ in difficulty and length. You can rent a bicycle through the reception of Woudschoten for € 12.50 per day per person.
Even mountain bikers can enjoy themselves here, with several climbing routes and narrow forest trails this is an excellent place for the sports enthusiast.

If you are staying at Woudschoten we highly recommend to take a nice walk on the Utrecht hills. There are 56 hiking trails on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. You can choose between a long route or just a short walk. The routes run from 2 to 21 kilometers. Only on the Woudschoten site there are already three well-planned walking routes.
If you want to run multiple routes, you can combine them. In total there is 150 kilometers of walking pleasure on the Utrecht Heuvelrug!

Climbing the Dom Tower
The Dom Tower is the symbol of the city of Utrecht. Climb the 465 steps and view the view from over 112 meters high. This is also the largest church tower in the country. So if you take a visit to the city of Utrecht, it is highly recommended to climb the Dom Tower.

And if you are still in Utrecht, then you should definitely take a walk along the cozy old canal. This 2 km long canal cuts through the entire city center from South to North.
The Railway Museum
Are you a lover of museums? Then the railway museum is an absolute must. In the museum you make a journey through history through different worlds. These worlds represent important time parts in the development of the track classified from historical to romantic!
Castle De Haar
This is the most luxurious and also the largest castle in the Netherlands. We strongly advise you to take one of the daily tours.
Pyramid of Austerlitz
The Pyramid of Austerlitz is only 4 kilometers away from Woudschoten. This pyramid is made of earth and is no less than 36 meters high. He is not from yesterday. The pyramid was built in 1804 by Napoleonic soldiers to defeat British soldiers in a repeat of the invasion in 1799.
The pyramid is placed on one of the highest points of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Only 90 years later, in 1894 the stone obelisk was added. The Pyramid of Austerlitz is one of the sights in the Utrecht Heuvelrug that we absolutely recommend!
Central Museum
Centraal Museum is located in the city of Utrecht. The Centraal Museum has an extensive collection of old and modern art and the Nijntje museum and the Rietveld Schröderhuis are part of the Centraal Museum.
National Military Museum
The National Military Museum is situated on the former air base at Soesterberg. It combines the collections of the former Military Aviation Museum in Soesterberg and Army Museum in Delft. There are numerous pieces on display, including tanks, planes, armoured vehicles and helicopters. Here you will find all the information you need to plan an exquisite day out at the museum.
